Claudia Drake
Claudia Drake, the pseudonym of Olga Gloria Fishbine, was an American actress, singer, and model, active primarily during the 1940s. Her film career was mainly in B-movies, where she played leading and supporting roles in numerous genres, from film noir to westerns. She is best remembered for her performance as Sue Harvey in Edgar G. Ulmer's cult film noir *Detour* (1945), considered a masterpiece of the genre and her most celebrated work. Her other significant films include *Enemy of Women* (1944), *The Lady Confesses* (1945), and *The Lone Wolf in London* (1947). Although she did not receive any major individual awards, her contribution to cinema was indirectly recognized in 1992 when *Detour* was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress for its cultural and historical significance. She retired from acting in the early 1950s to dedicate herself to her family.
