
Claudio Bigagli
Claudio Bigagli is an Italian actor, director, and screenwriter, born in Montale on December 8, 1955. His career began in the theater before he achieved fame on the big screen through his collaboration with the Taviani brothers, for whom he played a leading role in *La notte di San Lorenzo* (1982), which earned him the Nastro d'Argento for Best New Actor. He consolidated his success with the role of Lieutenant Nicola Lorusso in the Oscar-winning film *Mediterraneo* (1991) by Gabriele Salvatores, with whom he had already worked in *Marrakesh Express* (1989). Among his other significant performances are those in *Bianca* (1984) by Nanni Moretti and again with the Taviani brothers in *Kaos* (1984) and *Fiorile* (1993). His versatile career also extends to numerous television productions and film directing, while always maintaining a strong connection to the stage.
