Connie Booth
Connie Booth is an American actress and screenwriter, best known for co-creating and co-writing the acclaimed British sitcom *Fawlty Towers* with her then-husband John Cleese. In the critically acclaimed series, she also played the role of the pragmatic waitress Polly Sherman, serving as the voice of reason amid the hotel's chaos. For this work, she shared a BAFTA award with Cleese in 1980 for Best Sitcom. Her career is also linked to the Monty Python troupe, with appearances in their *Flying Circus* and in the film *Monty Python and the Holy Grail* (1975), where she played the witch. After acting in other television and stage productions, she retired from acting in the mid-1990s to pursue a new career as a psychotherapist in London, a profession she has practiced ever since, away from the spotlight.
