Dabney Coleman
Dabney Coleman (1932-2024) was a prolific and acclaimed American character actor whose career spanned over six decades. He became a cultural icon by specializing in roles of authoritarian, arrogant, and often comically detestable figures, almost always adorned with his unmistakable mustache. He defined the "horrible boss" archetype in 1980s cinema, achieving international fame with memorable roles such as the sexist Franklin Hart Jr. in the comedy 9 to 5 (1980) and the misogynistic director Ron Carlisle in Tootsie (1982). His other key film roles include WarGames (1983) and You've Got Mail (1998) [Note: Miracolo d'amore is You've Got Mail]. On television, he earned critical acclaim and an Emmy Award for the series The Slap Maxwell Story (1987) and a Golden Globe for Buffalo Bill (1983), solidifying his reputation as a master of playing gruff yet complex characters, right up to recent roles like the Commodore in Boardwalk Empire.
