Damian Lewis, a British actor born in London on February 11, 1971, trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. After an early career in theatre with the Royal Shakespeare Company, he gained international fame with the miniseries *Band of Brothers* (2001), for his role as Major Richard Winters. His definitive breakthrough came with his portrayal of Sergeant Nicholas Brody in the television series *Homeland* (2011-2013), a performance that earned him a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Lead Actor. His other notable television roles include Henry VIII in the critically acclaimed miniseries *Wolf Hall* (2015), and the shrewd billionaire Bobby Axelrod in the series *Billions* (2016-2023). Also active in film, he has appeared in movies such as Quentin Tarantino's *Once Upon a Time in Hollywood* (2019).
