Dan Seymour, born Daniel Seymour Katz (Chicago, February 22, 1915 – Santa Monica, May 25, 1993), was an American actor. Known for his imposing stature and distinctive face, he specialized in character roles, frequently playing antagonists, villains, or exotic characters in classic Hollywood cinema. His career took off in the 1940s, becoming a recurring face in film noir and adventure films. He is best known for his appearances alongside Humphrey Bogart in classics such as *Casablanca* (1942), where he plays Abdul, *To Have and Have Not* (1944), and *Key Largo* (1948). He also worked with the Marx Brothers in *A Night in Casablanca* (1946) and played a memorable hitman in Fritz Lang's *The Big Heat* (1953). Also active in television, his filmography includes over one hundred appearances. Although he did not receive any major awards, Seymour is recognized as one of the most reliable and iconic supporting actors of his era, capable of bringing menace and depth to each of his roles.
