Dana Dogaru is an acclaimed Romanian theater and film actress, born on September 1, 1953. She graduated in 1976 from the "I.L. Caragiale" Institute of Theatre and Film Arts in Bucharest and began her career at the Youth Theatre in Piatra Neamț, later becoming a prominent figure at the Odeon Theatre in Bucharest. On stage, she has performed memorable roles in productions such as *Richard III* and *The Cherry Orchard*, collaborating with leading directors like Andrei Șerban. Her film career is inextricably linked to key films of the Romanian New Wave, highlighted by her intense performances in Cristi Puiu's *The Death of Mr. Lăzărescu* (2005) and Cristian Mungiu's *4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days* (2007). Her talent has been recognized with numerous awards, including the prestigious UNITER Award for Best Actress in 1997. In 2004, she was also awarded the Order of Cultural Merit in the rank of Knight for her outstanding contribution to the performing arts.
