Daniel Emilfork (San Felipe, Chile, 1924 – Paris, 2006) was a Chilean-born French actor. Possessing a distinctive physique and face, characterized by a slender figure, sharp features, and a deep, cavernous voice, he specialized in portraying eccentric, unsettling, and often villainous characters. After moving to France in 1949, he developed a prolific career in both theater and film. His international fame is primarily linked to his role as the scientist Krank in *The City of Lost Children* (1995) by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro. His other notable collaborations include work with Federico Fellini in *Fellini's Casanova* (1976) and Roman Polański in *The Ninth Gate* (1999). Also very active on stage, he received a nomination for the prestigious Molière Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1999, a testament to his prowess in theater. His iconic image has made him a cult figure in fantasy and auteur cinema.
