Daniela Rocca
Daniela Rocca (Acireale, September 12, 1937 – Milo, May 28, 1995) was an Italian actress. After debuting as a model and participating in the Miss Italia pageant, she made her film debut, initially playing voluptuous characters in genre films. The breakthrough in her career came in 1961 with the role of Rosalia Cefalù in Pietro Germi's masterpiece, *Divorce Italian Style*, alongside Marcello Mastroianni. Her intense and neurotic performance earned her international critical acclaim and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. However, the character's enormous success led to her being strictly typecast, limiting her subsequent artistic opportunities. This professional difficulty, combined with a tormented personal life, contributed to a severe nervous breakdown that led to her gradual and definitive withdrawal from the screen starting in the late 1960s, prematurely ending a promising career.
