
Daria Halprin
Daria Halprin, born in 1948, is an American artist, author, and therapist, widely known to the public primarily for her leading role in Michelangelo Antonioni's cult film, *Zabriskie Point* (1970). Her brief film career also includes an appearance in *The Jerusalem File* (1972). After leaving acting, she directed her focus toward the connection between art, psychology, and movement. In 1978, she co-founded the Tamalpa Institute with her mother, dance pioneer Anna Halprin, an internationally recognized center for expressive arts therapy. There, she developed the Life/Art Process®, a method that uses movement, painting, and creative writing for personal exploration and healing. She is the author of foundational texts in her field, including *The Expressive Body in Life, Art and Therapy*. Her recognition stems from her pioneering contribution to expressive therapy, which has made her a leading figure worldwide.
