
Darryl Hickman
Darryl Hickman (1931-2024) was an American actor, screenwriter, and television executive whose career spanned over eight decades. He began as a child actor in the late 1930s, gaining recognition for his roles in classic films such as John Ford's *The Grapes of Wrath* (1940), as Winfield Joad, and *Leave Her to Heaven* (1945). His transition to young adult roles included appearances in numerous films and television series, including *The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis*, where he acted alongside his younger brother Dwayne Hickman. In the 1970s, Hickman changed career paths, becoming a programming executive for the CBS television network and supervising the development of successful series. He later returned to acting and also took up teaching. For his significant contribution to the film industry, he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
