Davey Jones
David Thomas "Davy" Jones (Manchester, December 30, 1945 – Indiantown, February 29, 2012) was a British singer, actor, and musician, known primarily as a member of the pop rock group The Monkees. His career began in theater, where he played the role of the Artful Dodger in the musical *Oliver!* both in London and on Broadway, earning a Tony Award nomination for his performance. In 1965, he was cast as a member of The Monkees, a group created for the eponymous television series. After the group disbanded, he pursued a solo career and participated in numerous Monkees reunions over the decades.
