David Bowie, born David Robert Jones (1947-2016), was a British singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and actor. Considered one of the most influential and innovative figures in popular music, his fifty-year career was marked by constant artistic reinvention and bold experimentation. After the success of "Space Oddity" (1969), he defined the glam rock era with the concept album *The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars* (1972). He later explored soul, funk, and electronic music with the "Berlin Trilogy" (*Low*, *Heroes*, *Lodger*), made with Brian Eno. In the 1980s, he achieved his greatest commercial success with the album *Let's Dance*. His discography concluded with the acclaimed album *Blackstar*, released two days before his death. Among his numerous accolades, he received six Grammy Awards, four BRIT Awards, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
