
David Dencik
David Dencik, born Karl David Sebastian Dencik (Stockholm, October 31, 1974), is a Swedish-Danish actor. Trained at the Swedish National Academy of Mime and Acting, he first gained recognition in Scandinavian cinema, earning critical acclaim and the prestigious Robert Award for his portrayal of the transgender woman Veronica in the Danish film "A Soap" (2006). His international career gained momentum with his role as agent Toby Esterhase in the thriller "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" (2011). He consolidated his fame portraying Mikhail Gorbachev in the HBO miniseries "Chernobyl" (2019), a performance that earned him a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination as part of the ensemble cast. His other notable works include the role of scientist Valdo Obruchev in the James Bond film "No Time to Die" (2021) and appearances in internationally successful series such as "The Chestnut Man" and "Quicksand," which confirm his versatility and screen presence.
