David Lochary
David Lochary (1944-1977) was an American actor, a cult figure, and a fundamental member of director John Waters' original "Dreamlanders" troupe. Known for his androgynous appearance, flamboyant costumes (which he often helped create), and an exaggerated stage presence that blended the aristocratic with the degenerate, Lochary perfectly embodied the "trash" and subversive aesthetic of Waters' early films. He is best remembered for his iconic roles, particularly as Raymond Marble, Divine's depraved rival in Pink Flamingos (1972), where he ran an adoption racket and heroin trafficking ring. His other memorable performances include "Mr. David" in Multiple Maniacs (1970) and the fascist hairdresser Donald Dasher in Female Trouble (1974). His career, which helped define Baltimore's underground cinema, was tragically cut short by his premature death at only 32 from an overdose.
