Dewey Martin

Dewey Martin (1923–2018) was an American actor whose career peaked in the 1950s. He distinguished himself primarily in adventure and western films, becoming a familiar face through important collaborations. His most significant role was that of Boone Caudill in Howard Hawks' film *The Big Sky* (1952), where he starred alongside Kirk Douglas. His filmography includes other notable titles such as the science fiction classic *The Thing from Another World* (1951) and the historical epic *Land of the Pharaohs* (1955), also directed by Hawks. He also appeared in the war film *The Longest Day* (1962). As his film career declined, starting in the 1960s, he worked predominantly in television, appearing in series such as *The Twilight Zone*. Although he did not receive major awards, his contribution is recognized for his intense performances in some of the most iconic films of his time, which made him a representative figure of that decade's genre cinema.
