Diane Clare, born Diane Dirsztay (London, 8 July 1938 – 21 June 2013), was a British actress. Trained at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), she began her film career in the late 1950s, gaining visibility with roles in films such as the war film *Ice Cold in Alex* (1958). Her fame is primarily linked to horror films for Hammer Film Productions, for which she played iconic roles such as the protagonist Sylvia in *The Plague of the Zombies* (1966) and a lady-in-waiting in *The Gorgon* (1964). Her filmography also includes appearances in notable works such as Robert Wise's psychological horror classic *The Haunting* (1963). Also active on the small screen, she appeared in popular television series of the era, including *The Avengers* and *The Saint*. She retired from acting in the late 1960s to focus on her family, leaving a significant legacy in British genre cinema.
