Dickie Jones
Richard Percy Jones, known as Dickie Jones (1927–2014), was an American actor and voice actor whose career began at a young age. Discovered by western film star Hoot Gibson, he distinguished himself as a child actor in numerous genre films and also appeared in major productions such as Frank Capra's *Mr. Smith Goes to Washington* (1939). His most famous and iconic role remains his voice work as the protagonist in the Disney animated classic *Pinocchio* (1940), where his vocal performance gave the character an innocence and vulnerability that contributed decisively to the film's worldwide success. After serving in the army, he continued to act primarily in television, securing starring roles in western series such as *The Range Rider* and *Buffalo Bill, Jr.*. After retiring from acting in the 1950s, he embarked on a new career in real estate. For his indelible contribution to the history of animation, he was officially named a Disney Legend in 2000.
