Dinos Iliopoulos (1915-2001) was a Greek actor, director, and writer, considered one of the most beloved and iconic figures of the golden age of Greek cinema. He began his career in the theater in the 1930s, distinguishing himself with his unique style that blended comedy, melancholy, and an innate elegance. His success was cemented in the post-war period, when he became one of the leading actors in Greek film comedy, often playing the role of the shy, dreamy common man. He acted in over one hundred films, including notable titles such as *The Counterfeit Coin* (I kálpiki líra, 1955) and *The Wise Guy* (O atsídas, 1962), where he played his signature role of a charming and clumsy swindler. His acting skills earned him several awards, including the Best Actor award at the Thessaloniki Film Festival. His persona as a kind and awkward gentleman made him a symbol of the average Greek citizen, securing him a place of honor in his country's popular culture.
