Donald Curtis (Cheney, February 27, 1915 – Los Angeles, May 22, 1997) was an American actor whose career is distinguished by an initial phase in Hollywood cinema and a second dedicated to spiritual teaching. Primarily active in the 1940s, he appeared in numerous films, often in supporting roles. His most notable performances include the serial *Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe* (1940), Alfred Hitchcock's *Spellbound* (1945), and the classic *It's a Wonderful Life* (1946). In the late 1940s, Curtis left acting to become a disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda. He entered the monastic order of the Self-Realization Fellowship, taking the name Brother Bimalananda, and for the rest of his life, he dedicated himself to teaching yoga philosophy and meditation, giving lectures and becoming a prominent figure within the organization. His professional trajectory remains a unique example of a transition from the world of entertainment to a life of spiritual service.
