
Dorina Lazăr
Dorina Lazăr is a Romanian theatre, film, and television actress, born on November 7, 1940, in Târgu Mureș. A central figure in the Romanian cultural scene, she graduated in 1961 from the Institute of Theatre and Film Arts in Bucharest. Her career is inextricably linked to the capital's Odeon Theatre, where she served as director from 1996 to 2017, performing in dozens of memorable roles. In cinema, she has distinguished herself with intense performances in emblematic films of the Romanian New Wave, collaborating with leading directors. Her most notable performances include those in Lucian Pintilie's *The Oak* (*Balanța*, 1992), Cristi Puiu's *The Death of Mr. Lăzărescu* (2005), and Călin Peter Netzer's *Child's Pose* (*Poziția copilului*, 2013). For her artistic contribution, she has received numerous accolades, including several UNITER awards for theatre and the Gopo Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2017, Romania's most important film award, as well as state honors.
