Dorothée Berryman is a Canadian actress and singer, and a prominent figure in Québec's cinema and music scene. Her career began in the 1970s, working in radio and television before establishing herself on the big screen. She is best known internationally for her collaborations with director Denys Arcand, playing the role of Louise in *The Decline of the American Empire* (1986) and reprising the same character in the sequel, *The Barbarian Invasions* (2003). For the latter performance, she received widespread critical acclaim, winning the Jutra Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her filmography also includes titles such as *Jack Paradise (Les nuits de Montréal)* and *Cabotins*. Alongside her acting, she has cultivated a successful career as a jazz singer, releasing several albums and performing regularly in concert, demonstrating remarkable artistic versatility.
