Dorothy Cumming (1895–1983) was an Australian actress who rose to prominence in Hollywood during the silent film era. After beginning her stage and film career in Australia, she moved to the United States, where she became a respected character actress. Among her most celebrated performances are the role of the Virgin Mary in Cecil B. DeMille's epic *The King of Kings* (1927) and that of the jealous cousin Cora in the psychological drama *The Wind* (1928), alongside Lillian Gish. With the advent of sound, Cumming continued to act, though often in supporting roles, demonstrating her ability to adapt to the new medium.
