Ednah Holt

Ednah Holt was an American actress, active primarily during the silent film era. Her film career was concentrated predominantly in the latter half of the 1910s, a period during which she became one of the leading performers for Vitagraph Studios. Valued for her versatility and screen presence, she distinguished herself in starring roles in numerous films. Her most significant works include *The Soul of a Magdalen* (1917), *The Little Chevalier* (1917), and the propaganda war film *The Common Cause* (1919), directed by J. Stuart Blackton. Although she did not receive formal awards in the modern sense, her status as a "leading lady" at one of the major studios of the time stands as the primary recognition of her influence. Her career entered a rapid decline with the transition to sound, leading to her retirement from the screen in the early 1920s.
