Elaha Faiz
Elaha Faiz is a German journalist, author, and activist of Afghan origin, born in Kabul in 1999. After fleeing to Germany in 2015, she quickly began her career in journalism, focusing on themes of feminism, integration, and human rights. She works for the public broadcaster WDR, where she is one of the voices on the COSMO program and hosts the podcast "Salamualaikum, Habibi". In 2021, she published her acclaimed autobiography "Weil ich ein Mädchen bin" ("Because I Am a Girl"), in which she recounts her personal story of escape and growing up between two cultures, offering a powerful reflection on the challenges faced by young women with a migration background. For her influential work, she has received major accolades: in 2021, she was named to Medium Magazin's "Top 30 under 30" list of the best young journalists, and in 2022, she won the "25 Frauen" (25 Women) award from Edition F magazine, which celebrates her as one of the women helping to make the world a better place.
