Eli Marienthal, born in Santa Monica on March 13, 1986, is an American actor and voice actor. He began his career at a young age, achieving international fame for his voice work in the cult animated film *The Iron Giant* (1999), in which he voiced the protagonist, Hogarth Hughes. For this performance, he won a prestigious Annie Award, the highest honor in the field of animation, for best voice acting in a feature film. Concurrently, he appeared on the big screen in prominent roles, playing Matt Stifler, Steve's younger brother, in the successful comedies *American Pie* (1999) and *American Pie 2* (2001). His filmography also includes appearances in films such as *The Slums of Beverly Hills* (1998) and *The Country Bears* (2002). After gaining prominence, Marienthal scaled back his film appearances to pursue university studies, later focusing primarily on theater, writing, and activism.
