Elizabeth Patterson (1874–1966) was an American actress, known for her long and prolific career as a character actress in film, television, and theatre. Specializing in roles as elderly women, spinsters, or authoritative matriarchs, her most significant film performances include "Dinner at Eight" (1933), "Tobacco Road" (1941), and "Intruder in the Dust" (1949). However, her fame reached its peak with the role of Matilda Trumbull, the Ricardos' neighbor, in the celebrated television sitcom "I Love Lucy."
