Elma Karlowa, born in Zagreb on March 12, 1932, and deceased in Munich on December 31, 1994, was a Yugoslav actress active predominantly in German and Italian cinema. After debuting in her home country, she moved to West Germany, where she established herself as a versatile actress, capable of ranging from comedy to drama. Her career was marked by a major award, the Deutscher Filmpreis (German Film Award) for Best Supporting Actress, which she won in 1957 for her performance in the film *Jonas*. In Italy, she became a familiar face in 1960s genre cinema, appearing in numerous productions. Her most notable appearances include the segment "L'oppio dei popoli" in Dino Risi's film *I mostri* (1963), the peplum film *Il boia di Venezia* (1963), and the Gothic horror *Il castello dei morti viventi* (1964), in which she acted alongside Christopher Lee. Her filmography attests to an international career and a well-regarded ability to adapt to different styles and production contexts.
