Enrique Piñeyro
Enrique Piñeyro, born in Genoa in 1956 and a naturalized Argentine citizen, is a multifaceted figure: a film director, actor, physician, former airline pilot, and philanthropist. He gained prominence during his career as a captain with the airline LAPA, where he became a whistleblower by denouncing the serious safety deficiencies that led to the tragic accident of Flight 3142 in 1999. This experience is the centerpiece of his most celebrated film, *Whisky Romeo Zulu* (2004), which he directed and starred in, receiving numerous international awards, including at the Sundance Film Festival and the Biarritz International Festival of Latin American Cinema. His filmography includes other investigative documentaries such as *Fuerza Aérea Sociedad Anónima* (2006) and *El Rati Horror Show* (2010). Alongside his film career, Piñeyro is known for his stage show *Volar es humano, aterrizar es divino* and for his humanitarian work through his NGO, with which he personally pilots aircraft on rescue missions in conflict and crisis zones.
