Vincenzo "Enzo" Jannacci (Milan, 3 June 1935 – Milan, 29 March 2013) was an Italian singer-songwriter, cabaret artist, actor, and surgeon, regarded as one of the major figures of the Italian singer-songwriter tradition. His career, launched in the 1950s alongside Giorgio Gaber, is characterized by a unique style that blends surrealism, irony, nonsense, and a profound poetic perspective on the outcasts and the marginalized. A central figure of the Milanese cultural scene, he portrayed reality through a highly personal language, often using dialect. His vast discography includes iconic songs such as "El portava i scarp del tennis," the celebrated "Vengo anch'io. No, tu no," "Ho visto un re" (written with Dario Fo), and "Quelli che...". Throughout his long artistic career, he received numerous accolades, including four Targa Tenco awards and the Critics' Award at the 1994 Sanremo Music Festival, a testament to his profound and lasting impact on Italian music and culture.
