
Enzo Tarascio
Enzo Tarascio (Turin, May 19, 1919 – Sanremo, October 30, 2006) was an Italian actor and voice actor. His career began in theater and radio in Turin, but he achieved widespread popularity through television. He was an iconic face of RAI television dramas in the 1960s and 1970s, portraying memorable roles such as Don Rodrigo in Sandro Bolchi's *I promessi sposi* (1967) and the judge in the miniseries *Il segno del comando* (1971). Also active in cinema, he worked with major directors such as Mario Monicelli, Ettore Scola, and Dino Risi, establishing himself as a well-regarded character actor. Concurrently, he worked extensively as a voice actor, lending his deep, authoritative voice to well-known international actors, including Peter Cushing, for whom he dubbed the character of Grand Moff Tarkin in the first *Star Wars* film, and Jack Hawkins. For his contribution to the world of entertainment, he received a special Nastro d'Argento in 1975, a testament to his significant impact on Italian television and film culture.
