Eric Schlumberger
Eric Schlumberger was a leading figure in Alsatian viticulture. As a representative of the sixth generation of the family owning the renowned Domaines Schlumberger, he led the company with a decisive impact on quality and terroir expression. His career was dedicated to enhancing the estate's vineyards, which are among the steepest and most prestigious in the region, by focusing on noble grape varieties such as Riesling, Gewurztraminer, and Pinot Gris. His most notable achievements are the wines from the estate's four Grand Crus: Kitterlé, Saering, Kessler, and Spiegel, labels that have gained international fame for their complexity and aging potential. His commitment was widely recognized in 2009 when the prestigious Gault & Millau guide awarded him the title of 'Vigneron de l'Année' (Winemaker of the Year), establishing him among the most important French producers and solidifying the domaine's global reputation.
