Ernest Boehm
Ernest Marshall Boehm was an American sculptor and designer, the son of the founder of the eponymous porcelain studios, Edward Marshall Boehm. After his father's death in 1969, he assumed leadership of Edward Marshall Boehm, Inc., continuing the company's artistic tradition. Under his direction, the studio further specialized in creating high-fidelity porcelain sculptures, celebrated for their naturalistic subjects such as birds and flowers. Among his most significant works is the pair of swans "Birds of Peace," gifted in 1972 by President Richard Nixon to Chinese leader Mao Zedong, consolidating the brand's international reputation. Boehm's creations have been widely recognized and are now part of prestigious permanent collections worldwide, including those of the White House, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Vatican Museums, and Buckingham Palace.
