Erno Crisa

Ernesto Crisa, known as Erno Crisa (Bizerte, March 10, 1914 – Rome, April 4, 1968), was an Italian actor and dancer. Trained as a classical ballet dancer in Paris, where he also worked at the Opéra, he made his film debut after World War II, establishing himself with a remarkable stage presence and an athletic physique. His career developed mainly between Italy and France, and he became a versatile character actor in over fifty films. He was particularly active in genre cinema, often playing antagonist roles or vigorous characters in peplum, adventure, and drama films. Among his most significant appearances are his roles in Julien Duvivier's *Don Camillo* (1952), Marc Allégret's *L'amante di Lady Chatterley* (1955), *La figlia della risaia* (1956), and *Cartagine in fiamme* (1960). Although he did not receive any major awards, his intense face and professionalism made him a recognizable and appreciated figure in the popular cinema of the 1950s and 1960s, until his premature death.
