Eva Axén
Eva Axén, born in Stockholm on December 12, 1954, is a Swedish actress, theater director, and acting coach, known primarily for her career in Italian cinema in the 1970s. She gained international recognition through her collaboration with director Dario Argento, for whom she played the young psychic Helga Ulmann in a flashback in *Deep Red* (1975). However, her most iconic role remains that of Pat Hingle, the first victim in the horror film *Suspiria* (1977), a memorable sequence that established her as a genre icon. Her filmography also includes appearances in other films such as *Death Smiles on a Murderer* (1973) and in arthouse works like Francesco Rosi's *Christ Stopped at Eboli* (1979). In the early 1980s, she retired from film acting to successfully dedicate herself to theater direction and teaching, founding her own acting school and continuing her career in the performing arts away from the spotlight of the big screen.
