Eva Mattes, an Austrian-German actress and voice actress, is one of the most significant figures of the New German Cinema. She began her career at a very young age, distinguishing herself with her intense performances and collaborating with prominent directors such as Rainer Werner Fassbinder in films like *The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant* (1972). Her international career is marked by her collaboration with Werner Herzog, for whom she played Marie in *Woyzeck* (1979), a role that earned her the Best Supporting Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival. Her performance in Helma Sanders-Brahms' *Germany, Pale Mother* (1980) is also among her most celebrated. Also active in theatre and television, she is well-known to the German general public for her role as Inspector Klara Blum in the long-running crime series *Tatort*, which she played from 2002 to 2016. Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards, including the Deutscher Filmpreis and the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
