Ewa Krzyżewska (1939-2003) was a Polish actress, considered one of the icons of the Polish Film School. She gained international recognition for her role as the barmaid Krystyna in Andrzej Wajda's masterpiece *Ashes and Diamonds* (1958), a performance that defined her image as a modern and sensual woman. Her career, mainly concentrated between the late 1950s and the early 1970s, includes appearances in notable films such as Jerzy Kawalerowicz's *Pharaoh* (1966) and *Jealousy and Medicine* (1973), her final feature film. She also worked in international productions, such as the Yugoslav film *Operacija Ticijan* (1963). For her talent, she received several awards in her home country, including the "Srebrna Maska" (Silver Mask) award in 1962, presented by the readers of the *Wieczór Expressu* newspaper. After her last film, she retired from public life and moved abroad.
