Farahnaz Safari
Farahnaz Safari, born in Tehran, Iran, in 1981, is a Swedish politician and author. A member of the Social Democratic Party, she served as a member of the Riksdag, the Swedish parliament, for two terms, from 2006 to 2014. During her parliamentary career, she focused on issues related to integration, cultural policy, gender equality, and human rights, distinguishing herself as a critical voice against the Iranian regime. In 2012, she published her autobiography, titled *Utan trygghet, ingen frihet* (Without Security, No Freedom), in which she recounts her personal story and political journey. Her commitment and visibility have made her a prominent figure in the Swedish public debate, particularly on the issues of women's and minorities' rights. After leaving parliament, she has continued to work in the cultural sector and for non-governmental organizations, consolidating her role as a civil rights activist.
