Fee Wachsmuth
Fee Wachsmuth, a German artist born in Hamburg in 1960, is a prominent figure in the field of sculpture and installation. Trained at the Hochschule für bildende Künste in Hamburg under the guidance of figures such as Marina Abramović and Franz Erhard Walther, she developed a rigorous and conceptual artistic language. Her practice focuses on the perception of space and the interaction between the artwork, the environment, and the viewer. Her creations, often minimalist and made from materials such as wood, metal, glass, and light, are conceived as site-specific installations that redefine and analyze the architectural contexts in which they are placed, altering the customary experience of the space. Her career is marked by numerous solo and group exhibitions at major European institutions. Her major awards include the prestigious Villa Massimo fellowship in Rome and the Edwin Scharff Prize from the City of Hamburg. Since 2007, she has held the professorship for sculpture at the Kunstakademie Münster, consolidating her role in academia.
