
Feridun Koç
Feridun Koç, born in 1963 in Haymana, Turkey, is a German politician of Turkish origin and a member of the Die Linke party. His political career has primarily taken place in Berlin, where he was elected as a member of the House of Representatives of Berlin (Abgeordnetenhaus von Berlin) for two legislative terms, from 2006 to 2011 and again from 2016 to 2021. During his terms in office, he established himself as a prominent figure in immigration and integration policy, serving as the spokesperson for his parliamentary group on these issues, as well as on labour market policy. His work has focused on defending the rights of migrants and refugees, combating discrimination, and promoting social inclusion policies. For his civil and political commitment to social cohesion and integration in the German capital, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of Berlin (Verdienstorden des Landes Berlin) in 2012, one of the city's highest honours.
