
Fran Drescher
Francine Joy "Fran" Drescher (born September 30, 1957) is an American actress, comedian, producer, and activist. After her film debut with a memorable role in *Saturday Night Fever* (1977), she solidified her career with appearances in films such as *This Is Spinal Tap* and *Cadillac Man*. She rose to international fame with the sitcom *The Nanny* (1993–1999), which she co-created, produced, and starred in as the iconic Fran Fine. For this performance, characterized by her distinctive nasal voice and brilliant comedic timing, she received two Golden Globe and one Emmy Award nominations. She later created and starred in other television series such as *Living with Fran* and *Happily Divorced*, which was based on her personal life. She has also voiced the character of Eunice in the *Hotel Transylvania* animated film franchise. Since 2021, she has served as the president of the actors' union SAG-AFTRA, leading the organization during the historic 2023 strike.
