Francesco Golisano

**Francesco Golisano** (Rome, 1929 – 2009) was an Italian actor and symbol of neorealism. His career is inextricably linked to the role of Totò in Vittorio De Sica's masterpiece *Miracle in Milan* (1951). Here, with his naivety and pure spirit, he embodied the hope and resilience of the marginalized in post-war Italy, becoming an icon.

He also starred in Giuseppe De Santis's *Roma ore 11* (1952), where he continued to give voice and face to humble and authentic characters. His acting style, deeply natural and devoid of artifice, made him one of the most representative faces of that cinematic period, capable of immediately conveying the joys and difficulties of ordinary people.
