
Frank Ferguson
Frank Ferguson (Ferndale, December 25, 1899 – Los Angeles, September 12, 1978) was an American actor. A noted character actor with a long and prolific career, his work spanned several decades of American film and television, specializing in supporting roles. His face became familiar to the public through recurring characters in popular television series: he is best remembered for his role as Gus, the ranch hand in the series *My Friend Flicka* (1956-1957), and as storekeeper Eli Carson in the celebrated serial *Peyton Place* (1964-1969). His filmography includes hundreds of appearances, often in minor but significant parts, in which he portrayed authority figures, respectable citizens, or wise elderly men. His credits include films such as *They Died with Their Boots On* (1941) and *Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein* (1948), as well as numerous TV series, including *The Andy Griffith Show* and *Bonanza*.
