Freddie Fletcher
Freddie Fletcher is a British painter and printmaker, a prominent figure in the post-war art scene. Although often associated with the Pop Art movement, he developed a distinctive personal style, characterized by vibrant colours, bold compositions, and a focus on subjects from everyday life and urban landscapes. Trained at St Martin's School of Art and the Royal College of Art in London, he excelled in both painting and screenprinting, a technique of which he is considered a master. His most representative works include paintings such as "The Red-Haired Girl" and numerous still lifes, which explore the relationship between form and colour in an innovative way. In recognition of his artistic merits, Fletcher was elected a member of the prestigious Royal Academy of Arts (RA), one of the highest honours in the British art world. His works are now held in major international collections, including the Tate Gallery, a testament to his lasting impact on contemporary art.
