
Fritz Wepper
Fritz Wepper (August 17, 1941 – March 25, 2024) was a celebrated German actor whose career began at a young age. His first notable role was in the anti-war film *The Bridge* (1959). He achieved international fame playing Fritz Wendel in Bob Fosse's Oscar-winning film *Cabaret* (1972). However, his most iconic role remains that of assistant inspector Harry Klein in the cult television series *Derrick*, which he played from 1974 to 1998 alongside Horst Tappert, becoming a familiar face to audiences worldwide. Subsequently, he continued to have great success in Germany, particularly with the long-running series *Um Himmels Willen*, where he played the part of Mayor Wolfgang Wöller. Throughout his long career, Wepper received numerous accolades, including the Bambi Award and the Bavarian Television Award, solidifying his status as one of German television's most beloved actors.
