
Gamze Kuş
Gamze Kuş, a Turkish artist born in Istanbul in 1989, graduated from the Painting Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Her artistic practice is multidisciplinary and encompasses various media, including painting, installation, video, and digital art. In her work, she explores complex themes such as collective and individual memory, the construction of identity, and the relationship between personal space and the socio-political context, with a particular focus on Turkey's recent history. Her approach is often research-based and involves the use of archival materials, which she reworks to create layered visual narratives. Her most significant solo exhibitions include 'A Place of Our Own' and 'Gentle Guerrilla'. Recognized as one of the most interesting emerging voices in the contemporary Turkish art scene, her work has been exhibited in numerous international institutions and biennials and has received significant awards, including the patronage award granted by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV).
