Georges Patrix
Georges Patrix (1920-1992) was a multifaceted French artist and designer, primarily active in the post-war period. Best known for his contribution to industrial design, he is associated with the Société d'Études et d'Applications du Vide (SEAV), for which he designed the iconic 'Tonneau' television set in 1959. Characterized by a barrel-shaped, curved wood casing, this device is considered a masterpiece of French design of the era and is displayed in permanent collections such as that of the Centre Pompidou. In parallel, Patrix pursued a significant career as a film actor, appearing in notable films such as 'Les Amants de Vérone' (1949) by André Cayatte and playing the role of Manda in 'Casque d'or' (1952) by Jacques Becker. His artistic work also extended to painting, confirming his creative versatility.
