Gérard Barray, stage name of Gérard Marcel Louis Baraillé (Toulouse, 2 November 1931 – Marbella, 15 February 2024), was a French actor who became famous in the 1960s as a leading actor in swashbuckler films. His popularity is primarily associated with films directed by Bernard Borderie, in which he portrayed popular and daring heroes. Among his most iconic roles are D'Artagnan in *The Three Musketeers* saga (1961), the Chevalier de Pardaillan, and the swordsman Scaramouche. His filmography also includes adventure, crime, and thriller films, such as *OSS 117 minaccia Bangkok* (1964). Beginning in the 1970s, he reduced his appearances on the big screen, also dedicating himself successfully to theatre. Considered a symbol of French adventure cinema, he was made an Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters in 2010 for his artistic contribution.
