Gertrud Fridh (1921–1984) was a Swedish actress, best known for her intense stage career and her film collaborations with director Ingmar Bergman. Trained at the Royal Dramatic Theatre (Dramaten) in Stockholm, she became one of its most esteemed performers, excelling in classical roles such as Hedda Gabler and Medea. Her collaboration with Bergman began at the Malmö City Theatre and continued at the Dramaten, solidifying her reputation as an actress of great dramatic depth. On screen, she is remembered for her memorable appearances in several of Bergman's films, including *Wild Strawberries* (1957), where she played the protagonist's wife, *The Magician* (1958), and *Hour of the Wolf* (1968). Her career was recognized with major awards, including the prestigious O'Neill Award in 1966 and the Swedish royal medal Litteris et Artibus in 1979, a testament to her significant contribution to the Swedish performing arts.
