Giampiero Albertini
Giampiero Albertini (Pavia, December 20, 1924 – Rome, May 14, 1991) was an Italian actor and voice actor. Trained at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan under the direction of Giorgio Strehler, he became one of the most prolific and recognizable character actors in Italian cinema and television. His film career includes performances in highly acclaimed films such as Elio Petri's *The Working Class Goes to Heaven* (1971), a role for which he won the Nastro d'Argento for Best Supporting Actor, and Dino Risi's *Scent of a Woman* (1974). On television, he achieved widespread popularity playing Inspector Lognon in the television drama *Le inchieste del commissario Maigret* and detective Archie Goodwin in the series *Nero Wolfe*. As a voice actor, his deep, raspy voice is inextricably linked to actors such as Lee Marvin, Peter Falk in the role of Lieutenant Columbo in the early seasons, and Charles Bronson.
